Our favorite is a visit to the ski resort for some summer hiking or down hill biking. Schweitzer ski resort runs their chair lift throughout the summer weekends for chair lift rides to the top of the mountain for hiking, berry picking or for the brave of heart, take your mountain bike up the hill on the chair lift (or rent one on the mountain) and ride it down the ski run. Check out the Schweitzer web site for more information and schedule of summer activites. August and September are great times for huckleberry picking while you hike down the hill. There is the Idaho Club, a championship golf course 7 miles away, fishing off the dock in front of the cabin for bass or fly fishing for trout on the famous Clark Fork River which is a 10 minute drive over to Clark Fork and over 500 hiking trails in the area for day trips. Another favorite is kayaking on the lake. A short kayak over to the Floating Restaurant is a fabulous way to have lunch. There are also many other great local restaurants.
